Everyday Posture Habits Worth Fixing
3 min read
Posture-related discomfort is rarely caused by one dramatic moment — it usually builds up from small daily habits repeated for hours, every day.
A few common patterns worth paying attention to: sitting for long periods without breaks, especially at a desk or in a car; looking down at a phone or laptop for extended periods, which increases strain on the neck; standing with weight shifted onto one leg for long periods; and sleeping positions that don't support the neck or lower back.
Small, consistent changes — taking short movement breaks, adjusting screen height, and being mindful of prolonged static positions — often make a bigger difference than any single piece of equipment.
If posture-related discomfort persists despite these habits, a physiotherapy assessment can help identify specific contributing factors and build a more targeted plan.
